Appendix B item (stones wrongly associated with pre-Conquest period).

Incomplete Romanesque tympanum? Reset in east wall of south porch interior. For many reasons, the identification of this stone as a tympanum — though commonly advanced — cannot be considered secure. Anyway, it neither dates from prior to the Norman Conquest nor can it be considered part of the 'Continuing Tradition'.
