Appendix C item (lost stones for which no illustration has survived)
Now lost, though noted as 'loose in churchyard' by Edwards (B. 1978a, 69). It was said to have been found there 'a few years ago' (Taylor, H. 1906, 397). Taylor (ibid., 398) gave the width as 61 cm (24 in); the stone type and present condition are unknown. The remains consisted of the upper and transverse arm of a plain cross-head, with a mortise on the underside of the transom. A composite head would be highly unusual among pre-Conquest crosses. Date uncertain.
